Day 33: The End of Chapter Two

Walden to Granby, Colorado

59 miles

2,152 feet of climbing

Hello!
Sorry about the wind noise. I’m actually, for the first time taking this video on the road. I am 40 miles into the day. I’ve been riding through the Colorado mountains, and I am a Colorado mountain boy.

This has been the perfect day to end chapter two. I am meeting Donna in Granby as soon as I finish these next 18 miles, and I’m excited about that.

I’ve gotten to do the riding today that I absolutely love. I love riding my bicycle through these beautiful Colorado mountains. Not so beautiful in the sense that there was a big forest fire here a year or two ago. But our mountains are the best.

I decided to do this video while I’m on the ride, because when I get done, I just want to be with Donna and not have to worry about this stuff.

So this does end chapter two and chapter three will start on Monday. Monday will see me climbing up over Hoosier Pass, which is the highest point on the entire train trail, and then dropping down into Pueblo. Then I had to ride across Kansas and Missouri, and that’s when I start the part of the ride I’ve never even done, and actually maybe the part I have most trepidation about.

But believe it or not, I’m looking forward to it. I can tell that I’m not done yet and I want to keep going. I just can’t imagine not finishing this story.

I love all the support and love and encouragement that you all have given me. I can’t tell you how meaningful it is to me. You’ve made this ride. I’m not sure I could have done it without all of you out there cheering. And I look forward to seeing you.

I hope you’re enjoying your own ride. Get out there, do something fun. Have a great weekend.

Really enjoying your trek! While I’m sad you don’t have a partner riding with you, I love the fact that it didn’t deter you in the least bit. Really looking forward to the next chapter! Enjoy your weekend off!
