So this is the end of day 29 – I rode from Lander, Wyoming, to Jeffrey City, Wyoming.
You’ll notice from the pictures that the scenery has changed dramatically, and with that the wind speed has changed dramatically. Now the secret is getting up super early in the morning and getting out on the bike and trying to beat the wind.
I just got off the phone with Donna and it looks like I’m going to get home and spend a few days at home starting Thursday. So now I’m counting down the days to getting to see Donna, pretty exciting.
I’ve been riding super well. I’m just really enjoying the ride. There’s nothing about it that’s upsetting me. You know, the wind is going to be pretty tough the next couple of days, but that’s fine, I can get out early and beat it.
Sorry for the hiatus. My daughter had a girls weekend – I’m glad that she got out and got a break. She’s going to combine this video with a video of the place that I’m staying right now.
I hope you’re well. Get out and do something fun this week and take care of yourselves. Take care of others and enjoy the ride.
[Church tour] This is the basement of a church that I’m staying in – they open it up to bicyclists. As you can see, bicyclists put a bunch of their thoughts and words up on the wall. And there’s my trusty steed. This is common along the route. There are just places that open up to bicyclists and they allow you to stay.
I’ve stayed at a couple of churches. This is actually my third church now… they have a small kitchen… they encourage you to make notes on the wall. I’ve actually made my own note right there.
There are also living accommodations. The church is up the stairs and there’s a couple of other cyclists staying here. There’s different rooms and there are air mattress pads – that’s all my crap when it’s not on my bike.
And that’s where I’m sleeping tonight. So there you have it. Sometimes the accommodations are really interesting.
