It makes me feel so happy that John is on the ride he worked, dreamed and planned for so long.  It’s a dual benefit to know he’s enjoying himself riding every day but also taking a sabbatical from the daily grind of work.

I support him every step of the way as I definitely want to be part of him fulfilling one of his dreams – he has many!

We chat almost every day that we can get cell service. We talked before he left about how he was taking a leap into uncertainty in various areas because of this ride. I’m observing John embrace uncertainty with courage, flexibility and vulnerability.

I know he felt confident in his riding ability, but the unknown often arrives in unexpected ways. Enduring the good, bad (and rain!!!) is definitely a challenge in endurance as well as perseverance.

Watching him fulfill his dream, and surmount physical, mental and emotional obstacles is immensely inspiring.

I love hearing the joy in his voice after a day in the saddle, and listening to his stories about what interesting places, people and experiences he’s having.

My role right now is to support, and that’s exactly what I’m doing!
