Good afternoon.
Early day today, we rode just 39 miles. There were 5 miles of climbing that took us about 1800 feet up and then downhill the rest of the way with a tailwind. We rode from Mitchell to a small town called Dayville. We stayed in Mitchell at a hostel, which is actually a church that was built in 1943.
The husband and wife who run the hostel are the pastors of the church and I had a fascinating conversation with them about their experience with that.
There’s a cafeteria and whatnot next to us, and they allow cyclists to stay.
So it was a pretty good day. Nice to be inside, we don’t have to set up tents or anything. There’s a kitchen with take and bake pizza down at the store, so we’re going to have pizza tonight.
This is an outstanding part of Oregon and I’ve actually never been to and never knew existed.
Having tons of fun, feeling good, and Kevin is feeling really good as well.
Enjoy the ride. I certainly am.
