Day 2: Accepting Help from Road Angels

So I thought I would do today’s recording from our campground, so you can see our pretty spot. My buddies are all somewhere over there having dinner.

Today was a pretty easy ride, I think something like 55 miles. It was raining when we left, but only rained for about an hour and the rest of the ride was just beautiful.

Something came up today that I’ve been thinking about since it’s a thing I struggle with – I am terrible at asking for help or accepting help. It’s one of the things that I wanted to work on out here.

So today we had our first Road Angel, who is actually Kevin’s girlfriend. (She is tagging along for a little while with us). Road Angels, if you’re not familiar, are people you meet on these cycle trips that will do really nice stuff for you. Today our Road Angle drove out in front of us and she took all of our bags so we didn’t have to carry our bags today. That made the bikes a lot easier to ride.

Me saying yes to that help is not something I would normally do. My daughter will get a kick out of it, there’s a story behind that for she and I from our rides together. But yes, Chloe, I let somebody carry my bags to the next spot.

Love you all.

Enjoy the ride. I know I will.
